Meeting Recap
Hi Ladies,
Well February is here and where has Winter been? Not that I miss it - so maybe we should start getting ready for Spring! And there is no more beautiful place than Atlanta in Spring.
We have a great February meeting planned. It will be Tuesday, February 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the Griffin residence at 9350 Old Southwick Pass, Johns Creek which is in Country Club of the South. It is gated so you will need to check in with the security guard and tell them you are attending the Chattahoochee Woman's Club meeting. We will be having a fundraiser for North Fulton Community Charities called Have a Heart for NFCC and will have prizes to bid on or buy raffle tickets. Vonda Malbrough with NFCC will speak to us briefly about the organization. Husbands and boyfriends are invited since they can spend money too and, of course, Valentine's Day is coming up soon! So wear your red or pink outfits and bring a little extra cash! I've attached a flyer which you can print out to post at your work, at local libraries, Starbucks Coffee and anywhere else you can post a flyer.
In addition, we will be discussing our Celebrate America 5K/10K. A good friend of Kellie Griffin's, Danielle Moore, has designed a fabulous logo for our 2012 race which will be held Monday, May 28 - Memorial Day. (She also designed the new Chattahoochee Woman's Club logo - visit www.chattwoman.com to see both logos!) As you know, this is our annual fundraiser that brings in funds to support our many projects throughout the year, including your $250 mini-grants! We will need help with getting financial sponsors, donation of bottled water, food and much more so get ready to volunteer with different responsibilities to help out with our race.
Our Angelina Ballerina program is progressing well and Jennifer Geck appreciates those of you who have agreed to help her out. Thanks to Pam Levy who helped out a few weeks ago. She needs help on Thursday evenings with her two classes. They will be performing at the Fox Theater on April 17 and the final recital on May 17 so will especially need help on those two days. The CWC has bought a few needed ballet slippers and dancewear for a few of the students and Jennifer has persuaded other businesses to help out as well.
We just got through with writing reports for all the hard work we did in 2011 and ladies, it is so impressive to see the MANY things we did and the many people in our community whose lives we have touched. Cheryl Miller has done a terrific job compiling all the statistics including hours spent, and money donated or raised. We will share those reports with you to look through so you can get the same wonderful feeling of being a part of such a giving organization.
Co-presidents in February will be Kellie Griffin and yours truly. In March, Pam Levy and Anne Cintron will serve as co-presidents. Hope to see you next Tuesday!
